The Still Heart Journal was created out of my desire to have one organized space journaling as my Bible was filled with notes and underlined Scripture. I had several journals that I had collected over the years from grateful journals, soap journals, to blank lined and unlined journals. As I was immersed in God’s Word, I became aware that my cluttered space, paper filled desk and the inability to find recordings of answered prayers, remembering God’s faithfulness was not bringing me hope, joy, clarity, or the ability to focus. I also realized that many times as I would write directly in my Bible, my pen strokes would bleed into the next page resulting in not being able to read God’s Word clearly! I love beautifully crafted products that bring peace and joy and thought to myself wouldn’t it be nice to have one cohesive, beautiful, high quality paper journal to record my thoughts, prayers, and conversations with our loving Heavenly Father.
I had read and studied books of the Bible but never read the Bible cover to cover. As a student of Dallas Theological Seminary, I took Dr. Mark Yarbrough’s class “The Story of Scripture”. We dove deep into the metanarrative of Scripture and my eyes were opened to the full story starting in Genesis and ending in Revelation. I understood how important it was to read the Old Testament to fully comprehend the New Testament. God had a plan from the very beginning…. what God created in Genesis 1-2; He now completes in Revelation 21-22. Everything is restored!
I decided to leave seminary as I felt God was calling me in a different direction- using my faith testimony and past business experience to create Still Heart Hollow and the Still Heart Spiritual Journal. I have spent many years reading and studying the Bible with classes, devotionals, commentaries, and podcasts. I have been transformed in my heart and mind by God’s living and breathing Word. I realized that I had never read the Bible cover to cover from Genesis to Revelation. I embarked on discovering the greatest love story ever written. I discovered who God is and who I am. I encountered a loving, holy, sovereign, true, good Father. I came to understand that what God promises, God fulfills.
We all realize and have read many studies on how healthy it is for our mind and soul to have an organized and clean space free of distraction, free of clutter. I encourage you in 2024 to create a space used daily, inviting the Holy Spirit in. A quiet, warm, beautiful, sweet-smelling space to read God’s Word from Genesis to Revelation. As I send each journal out, I pray over each one. I pray the journal encourages you to find peace, joy, strength, and freedom in God’s Word with a beautiful product to write, draw, and remember God’s love and faithfulness no matter the circumstance.
